Violet Drift is an exploration of the  delicate intersection between the natural word and human expression. By taking the skeletal remains of a sand dollar- a symbol of the Sea’s quiet endurance – and overlaying it with vibrant rhythmic ink work, the piece transforms a sea worn relic Ito a modern talisman. The use of violet and magenta tones represents a departure from the traditional “beached”aesthetic, instead breathing  a second, more colorful life into the shell.
